Workplace Pension Policy

Workplace Pension and Automatic Enrolment Policy

UK Nationwide Ltd is committed to supporting its employees in saving for their retirement through the implementation of automatic enrolment in a workplace pension scheme.

Automatic enrolment ensures that eligible employees are actively building their retirement savings. UK Nationwide Ltd has selected the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST) as its workplace pension provider.

Automatic Enrolment

UK Nationwide Ltd will automatically enrol employees into the NEST Pension Scheme if they meet all of the following eligibility criteria:

• Are aged 22 or over but under State Pension Age;
• Earn more than £10,000 per year (£833 per month or £192 per week);
• Are not already an active member of a qualifying workplace pension scheme with UK Nationwide Ltd;
• Are working or ordinarily work in the United Kingdom.

Once enrolled, employee pension contributions will be deducted directly from wages through payroll. Employees will normally receive tax relief on their pension contributions.

UK Nationwide Ltd will also make employer contributions to the employee’s pension fund in line with statutory requirements. This ensures that both employee and employer contributions are invested into the employee’s pension savings.

Voluntary Enrolment

Employees aged between 16 and 75 who do not meet the criteria for automatic enrolment may choose to join the NEST Pension Scheme voluntarily at any time.

Where an employee’s annual earnings exceed £5,824 (approximately £486 per month or £112 per week), UK Nationwide Ltd will make employer contributions from the date of enrolment.

Employees earning below this threshold may still join the scheme but will not be entitled to employer contributions.

Joining the Scheme

Employees wishing to join the NEST Pension Scheme should notify UK Nationwide Ltd in writing of their intention to enrol.

Following enrolment, employees will receive a welcome pack from NEST via email. This pack provides full details of the pension scheme, contribution levels, and information on how to opt out should the employee choose to do so.

Opting Out

Employees have the right to opt out of the pension scheme after enrolment in accordance with NEST’s opt-out process. Details of how to opt out will be included in the NEST welcome pack.

UK Nationwide Ltd will comply with all legal obligations relating to automatic enrolment and will not encourage employees to opt out.

Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure continued compliance with pension legislation and alignment with UK Nationwide Ltd’s commitment to supporting employee wellbeing and long-term financial security.
